Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love cooking good food, dragging out every possible piece of furniture that can be used as a chair, getting together with people I love, eating a fabulous meal, visiting and thinking of all the good things in my life to be thankful for.

This year Jake and I got together with about ten of our friends for dinner. I was in charge of bringing an apple pie and rolls. Wednesday night I made the crust so it could chill in the fridge overnight. I followed the pie crust directions from smitten kitchen. I awoke Thursday morning super excited to spend the day baking (don't go into shock, mom). I happily spent the day making food while listening to Jake mutter things about stress vs. strain and force per area from the computer. He dutifully spent the day working on labs for school. I am much better than him at putting school out of my head for a day and procrastinating things like that till the last minute.

So here are a few pictures of my pie making process for all you who doubted I actually made the pie from scratch (yes lorra, I'm talking to you).

This year I'm thankful for. ..
  • the internet
  • my ipod (you have saved me from talking to countless strangers on the bus)
  • the local library (my budget would really be blown if not for you)
  • my family (you are some of the best people I know)
  • and of course Jacob and Corky
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
